We value positive relationships with parents and carers to help develop better social and emotional skills in children. We know that when children are engaged with their learning, they attend school more regularly, leading to better long term outcomes.
For parenting and counselling services, visit the Family Support page, and for direction and clarity on regulations, processes and procedures at our school, read the Sydney Catholic School policies.
St Brigid’s Catholic Primary School Marrickville encourages and promotes a positive, supportive partnership between home and school. Parents are invited to help in classrooms with activities such as reading, art and craft as well as group work. We also encourage parents to assist on excursions and at sporting events. The involvement of parents within the school is highly valued. Getting involved at this level has a positive impact on learning and builds relationships between parents, teachers and children. When we work together, children have better social and emotional skills, leading to better, longer term outcomes.
Before and After School Care
Before and after school care is offered on school premises by SCECS. Parents are to make arrangements for before and after school care with the organisation directly.
Parents and Friends
The St Brigid’s Parents and Friends Association is an integral part in the life and culture of this school. It provides invaluable financial and practical support for the school.
Communication
Our primary communication channel is through Compass, a web-based information platform. Other forms of communication at St Brigid’s include newsletters, assemblies and three-way conferences.
