We value positive relationships with parents and carers to help develop better social and emotional skills in children. We know that when children are engaged with their learning, they attend school more regularly, leading to better long term outcomes.

For parenting and counselling services, visit the Family Support page, and for direction and clarity on regulations, processes and procedures at our school, read the Sydney Catholic School policies.

St Brigid’s Catholic Primary School Marrickville encourages and promotes a positive, supportive partnership between home and school. Parents are invited to help in classrooms with activities such as reading, art and craft as well as group work. We also encourage parents to assist on excursions and at sporting events. The involvement of parents within the school is highly valued. Getting involved at this level has a positive impact on learning and builds relationships between parents, teachers and children. When we work together, children have better social and emotional skills, leading to better, longer term outcomes.

Before and After School Care
Before and after school care is offered on school premises by SCECS. Parents are to make arrangements for before and after school care with the organisation directly.

Parents and Friends
The St Brigid’s Parents and Friends Association is an integral part in the life and culture of this school. It provides invaluable financial and practical support for the school.

Communication
Our primary communication channel is through Compass, a web-based information platform. Other forms of communication at St Brigid’s include newsletters, assemblies and three-way conferences.

BYODD stands for Bring Your Own Designated Device for learning both at school and at home. At St Brigid’s, the designated device is the iPad.

This approach supports the development of 21st century skills, engaging students through personalised learning. The BYODD program commences in Year 3 and continues through to Year 6.

It is essential for parents and students to review and discuss Sydney Catholic Schools Students Acceptable Use Agreement.

Please see office staff for the list of apps that need to be downloaded at home onto your child’s iPad. It is important that each of these apps is updated.
